The purpose of this guide is twofold:

- We want you have a basic sense of what to expect.
Despite much variation in regulation from muncipality to muncipality, the questions below are the basic considerations for ADU planning.
We’ve seen plenty of horror stories where a homeowner buys a prefab unit out of state, that isn’t legal for their jurisdiction.
With this guide, you can get a sense of what requirements there might be. You are welcome to do your own research or you can hire a company like us that will help guide you through the process.
The two basic services we offer are:
- To assess whether an ADU with the features you specify will be feasible and
- to determine the best use of your property regarding an ADU expansion.
In some cases, it may be best to install a prefabricated unit. Or you get additional allowances or restrictions due to the specific plan you are in. Either way we want to help.
