In some areas, where there is not enough residential property to service the population, like California, building an accessory dwelling unit is a great way to contribute to society while improving the value of your property.
You can have your relatives, or friends live there. You can rent out the additional unit for additional income. You cannot sell the ADU separately from the single-family home.
